OUT OF HOURS
If you require
urgent attention or advice when the surgery is closed please ring the usual surgery
number which is 476576. (Please have a pen and paper ready.) You will hear a message on the
answering machine which will provide you with the telephone number of our out-of-hours
service. Please restrict out of hours calls to genuine urgent cases only. In accordance
with nationally agreed procedures for out of hours cover, requests for urgent
attention will be assessed by the doctor on call. You may be offered advice only,
you may be asked to attend a treatment centre, or a house visit will be provided
if, in the opinion of the doctor on call, there is a genuine and unavoidable need.
TELEPHONE CALLS MAY BE RECORDED AND THE ANSWERING MACHINE DOES NOT TAKE MESSAGES.
NHS DIRECT
You may also call NHS Direct, a 24-hour nurse-led advice helpline, on 0845 4647, or alternatively, visit them online at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk.
DISABLED ACCESS
Access to the front door of the surgery is via a ramp. This has a handrail but may be too steep
for some wheelchair users. A toilet large enough for wheelchair users is available.
